Have you secured your ticket yet? This year the awards are being held on Thursday, 19th October, at Southwards Car Museum. Ready your dancing shoes, as this year, the Electra Business & Innovation Awards Night entertainment is sure to get the whole crowd on their feet!
Back by popular demand is Play on Words! Play On Words is led by Kāpiti-based vocalist Jess Deacon, playing a back catalogue of tunes you haven't heard since you were dancing on the table at Aunty Sal's wedding. For this year's Electra Business & Innovation Awards, Jess (vocals, keys) will be joined by Jodie Gummer (vocals, guitar) to welcome people to the event, and later in the evening by Cam Steel (drums, percussion), Ramon Oza (vocals, guitar), and Andy Russell (bangin' bass) to bring some magic to the dance floor!
The team would like to introduce Let’s Jet for the 2023 Awards Night. Formed in 2022 by passionate performers from Kāpiti College, Let's Jet landed first place at the Young Singers In Harmony National Convention in September. Since then, they have taken off, being coached by a variety of barbershop practitioners across the Wellington region, including Emma Salzano and Bridget O'Shanassy and performing at events ranging from retirement villages to regional events. The highly sought-after quartet - now comprising Elodie Craig, James Stent, Jesse Pollard-Simmis and Phoenix Colombick after refreshing their members in 2023 - have continued to produce high-quality barbershop performances of an impressive calibre, for their age and experience.
