The Electra Business & Innovation Awards team are excited to announce that this year's host will be none other than the award-winning comedian Nick Rado. Nick is a critically acclaimed comedian, radio presenter, TV writer and five-time winner of Best Comedy MC at the New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards, impressive to say the least. He is also widely known for his involvement with TV3’s topical news comedy show ‘7 Days’ as a writer, panellist and guest comedian.
Also on the programme is a great lineup of local entertainment, Matiu Te Huki is featuring as the evening's dinner entertainment. Matiu's soulful roots music has a strong Māori flavour, using haka and traditional Māori instruments, backed by grabbing grooves, deep, beautifully crafted bass lines, funky rhythms and magical melodies that stay with you well after the show ends.
The event will then finish with a dance floor finale by local band, Play On Words. Led by Kāpiti-based vocalist Jess Deacon, Play On Words will be playing a back catalogue of tunes you haven't heard since you were dancing on the table at Aunty Sal's wedding. For the Electra Business Awards Jess (vocals and keys) will be joined by Cam Steel (drums and percussion), Gav Bromfield (vocals, guitar and funky flute), and Andy Russell (bangin' bass) to add some musical spice to the night. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
Onboard for 2022 to serve up a delectable 3-course dinner is the acclaimed Blue Carrot Catering. With a menu featuring a plethora of Kāpiti and Horowhenua-based artisan producers.
